Update: January 2021

Despite being allowed to remain open in line with government guidance, as with all previous lockdowns we are continuing to keep our stores closed for the safety of staff and customers. We are also suspending our click & collect service for the same reason. Our online service is running as normal and we are happy to assist you with any product queries by email –

Stay safe and we hope to see you all again soon.

Update: Thursday 5th November

Despite being allowed to remain open in line with government guidance, we have made the decision to close for the time being for the safety of our staff and customers. We hope that the national lockdown will be lifted on 2nd December, however, if it is continued we may revisit this decision and will update in due course. We will be launching our new website in the coming weeks to make shopping online even easier and we are able to continue with click & collect orders in both Ambleside and Beverley.

Update: Saturday 4th July

We are pleased to announce both our Ambleside & Beverly stores have reopened after making some changes to our layouts to allow for staff & customers to appropriately distance. We have hand sanitiser available on entry from Solway Spirits, as well as some beautifully scented varieties to purchase in a handy spray bottle from Old Curiosity. Our online orders will continue as normal with free delivery on orders over £40 and we can now offer click & collect.

Update: Tuesday 24th March 2020

Following on from the government announcement last night we wanted to reassure you that online orders are still open, however, to minimise contact & to reduce our time spent away from home we will only be doing one courier drop off per week so delivery may take slightly longer than usual. We have currently suspended our collect from store option and are now offering free delivery on all orders over £40.00

Update: Saturday 21st March 2020

Although the government has not yet asked shops to close we have decided, in order to respect social distancing and to protect our staff, customers and the community, to close our stores this weekend.

Kindred Spirits Beverley will be open until the end of today (Saturday 21st March)

Kindred Spirits Ambleside will be open until the end of tomorrow (Sunday 22nd March)

The Cuckoo Gin Collaboration Tasting Evening due to take place on Saturday 28th March & The Kindred Spirits Rum Tasting Evening have been postponed and will be rescheduled once it’s clear that social events are safe to attend. We will assess whether our other scheduled events will also be postponed closer to the time & updates will be made accordingly.

Online orders will still be processed as normal for as long as possible, however couriers are warning that deliveries may take a little longer than normal due to increased demand and decreased staff levels.

Wishing all of our customers, suppliers, supporters & their families well, keep safe, healthy & sane and we hope to see you all in stores again very soon!

Update: Sunday 15th March 2020

As the number of cases of coronavirus is increasing in the UK we thought it best we share some information on our website.

Both our Ambleside and Beverley stores will remain open as usual unless staff members are required to self isolate or the guidance from the government changes and moves to an Italy style lock down.

Our tasting evenings are still going ahead as planned and bookings will remain live. If we have to cancel an event due to staff illness or government advice we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible. The event will be arranged for a later date, if you are unable to attend the rescheduled date you may switch your ticket to a different event or put the value towards products instore/online.

If you are in self-isolation and unable to attend an event you are booked on to, please contact us as soon as you can by email – as above, you will be able to attend an alternative evening, or put the value towards producst instore / online.

The health of our staff and customers is at the forefront of our minds at this time, we are taking precautions to keep everyone safe and are regularly checking for updates from the government / WHO.

If you think you have been in contact with someone with the Corona Virus, we politely ask you refrain from visiting the store and make your purchases online instead – we would actively encourage you to stockpile craft spirits, it will make self-isolation much more enjoyable!

If you have any questions regarding the above, please do not hesitate to contact us at

Thank you for your understanding and remember…wash your hands!
