Kindred Spirits’ tasting room recently transformed into a hub of creativity as Aidan of The Lake District Cocktail Company and the event host Leigh teamed up to present the first-ever Cocktail Masterclass. Sixteen eager participants gathered around the tasting table, ready to embark on a journey of mixology and flavour exploration.
The evening kicked off in style with a tantalizing Pornstar Rum-tini, featuring the exquisite Piña Rum. As laughter and excitement filled the air, our guests embraced their inner mixologists, crafting and recreating classic cocktails with a distinctive Kindred twist.
From brilliant concoctions to more adventurous attempts, our amateur mixologists experimented with various techniques, creating a dynamic and entertaining atmosphere. The second act of the evening starred the Pineapple Mojito, where participants eagerly muddled fresh pineapple and mint, crafting a refreshing and tropical delight with the versatile Piña Rum.
The classic Bramble took centre stage next, showcasing a blend of Bramble and Bay Gin and Damson Gin Liqueur. This timeless cocktail proved to be a crowd-pleaser, offering a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness.
The creative freedom continued as guests ventured into crafting their own sour cocktails, choosing from a diverse selection of spirits. The Bakewell Gin Liqueur emerged as the undisputed favourite, with the majority opting for the Bakewell Sour. A few daring individuals explored with Smoked Rum Sours, while one intrepid soul crafted a Peated Whisky Sour, adding a unique twist to the mix.
The success of the Cocktail Masterclass echoed through the rave reviews on TripAdvisor, with numerous guests awarding the evening a well-deserved five stars. The Bakewell Gin Liqueur proved to be a hot commodity, selling out on the spot, attesting to the popularity of their masterfully crafted Bakewell Sours.
