Keswick’s newest tasting room at Kindred Spirits recently played host to an evening with Keswick Tourism Association (KTA). The event, attended by various small business owners and KTA members, unfolded as a celebration of local spirits, camaraderie, and the vibrant Keswick community.
Upon entering the shop floor, guests were welcomed with an arrival drink on the shop floor, setting the tone for a night filled with flavour and conviviality. The attendees sampled a range of spirits, including a popular Christmassy favourite, Cranberry and Clementine Gin, the exquisitely smooth Orange and Pomegranate Vodka, the sweet, yet robust Solway Spiced Rum, and the smooth Hell’s Stone Whisky.
The tasting experience was not only diverse but also hands-on, with guests enjoying an array of neat tastings that highlighted the unique profiles of each spirit. From the delicate botanical notes of the gin to the warming notes of the whisky, every sip offered a journey through the best of British craft distilling.
One of the highlights of the evening was the opportunity for guests to curate their own perfect serve. They began by choosing their preferred neat spirit—be it the tantalizing Cranberry and Clementine Gin, the robust Solway Spiced Rum, or the smooth Hell’s stone Whisky. Once their choice was made, hosts Tasha and Leigh worked their magic, presenting personalised perfect serves. The Cranberry and Clementine Gin found harmony with a Spanish clementine tonic, while the Solway Spiced Rum danced delightfully with a Fever-Tree Ginger Ale. Both combinations proved equally popular, creating a symphony of flavours that added an extra layer of enjoyment to an exceptional tasting experience.
Beyond the tantalising drinks, the event fostered a sense of community as attendees engaged in lively networking. Small business owners and KTA members connected, sharing insights and forging connections that are sure to resonate within the local business landscape.
As hosts Tasha and Leigh navigated the guests through the evening, ensuring each guest’s palate was satisfied and curiosity piqued, the tasting event at Kindred Spirits emerged as a resounding success. The Keswick Tourism Association can proudly add this evening to its list of triumphs, showcasing the town’s hospitality, local businesses, and the undeniable spirit of Keswick.
