If you are looking for a classic Lake District product, I don’t know whether you can get anything more apt than this gin liqueur made with fresh damsons from the Lyth Valley. Geoff at Lakeland Artisan is the master of the damson, winning awards for his damson gin, jam, and syrup!
From the Distiller
Made using local hand-picked Lyth Valley Damsons and London Gin, this liqueur is a real taste of the English Lake District. A plum-like Liqueur with a fine and appealing balance of sweet and sour from the damsons coupled with the bitter characteristics of the Gin.
Delicious sipped neat over ice or try mixing with Mediterranean tonic water and a slice of lemon for a refreshing long drink.
With a passion for quality food and drink, Geoff Monkman started his own business in 2006 with a range of ‘friendly foods’ chutneys and jams. His portfolio has since grown to include other Lakeland fayre including soft drinks and hampers. In 2017 Geoff created a damson syrup for his wedding guests to enjoy in their prosecco toasts – this proved so popular, guests demanded it became available to purchase. Since then, a range of prosecco syrups and spirit based liqueurs have been available under the Lakeland Artisan umbrella.
