The distillery is housed in a bothy on the Kincardine Estate
Their unique botanical – silver birch tree sap – is tapped on-site at the estate
Crafted by husband & wife, Steven & Lynne
This is a hidden gem in the store and falls in the middle of classic and flavoured gins. The subtle sweetness from the honey allows it to be sipped neat quite easily, while the nutmeg and cloves add a wintery edge to the gin. However, don’t be put off by the more wintery feel of this – it’s a staff favourite all year round!
From the Distiller
This Scottish Gin is a unique addition to the market and incorporates sap from the silver birch tree, tapped from the Kincardine Estate in Royal Deeside and enhanced by extra spices and honey which provides a subtle sweetness.
We know the majority of people don’t enjoy their gin neat, however, this is worth trying on its own with lots of ice and a slice of fresh orange.
For a long drink, this flavour is surprisingly versatile – try with classic tonic, ginger ale, Lixir blood orange & cinnamon tonic. It’s also a great substitute for whisky in your favourite hot toddy recipe!
Royal Deeside, Scotland
A keen interest in gin evolved in to a successful business for husband and wife team, Steven & Lynne. Esker Gin began with 2 years of experimentation in their kitchen with a 1 litre copper still to perfect the recipe. Using a mix of 12 botanicals including locally sourced silver birch tree sap, an award winning, full flavoured gin was crafted. They began distilling in their shed, but after 12 months their popularity meant expansion to a small, family owned distillery on the Kincardine Estate, where the silver birch trees grow, was necessary.
